The Time For Transformation In Our Cities
AAMA Conference 2022
April 27-29, 2022 - Washington, DC
It’s time for transformation! Transformation represents a thorough change in appearance and form. Given the difficult, compounding crises mayors have navigated since the onset of the pandemic, the AAMA recognizes the need to transform our cities into more sustainable communities. The vitality of communities across the nation is at stake, and municipal governments have the unique opportunity to be dynamic forces at the forefront of such change.
The pandemic, international cries for racial equity, and the subjugation of Black voters across the country have severely impacted communities north to south, east to west. These challenges have revived debates regarding the importance of systemic change in local governments and better service delivery to citizens. The 2022 African American Mayors Association annual conference is an occasion to converse with decision-makers in the public sector and an opportunity to share successful strategies and new ideas. All in attendance, from mayors to corporate executives, can seize the opportunity to engage and connect with vital stakeholders in the transformation of our cities.
As we move toward changing the culture and services of local government, this year’s conference will focus on four aspects of transformation in our cities. Sustainability & Resilience, Economic Development, Infrastructure, and Innovation are at the foundation of improving the outcomes in municipalities and will guide our in-depth and change-making discussions at the 2022 annual conference. These conference tracks will unfold a more descriptive and refined approach to understanding community need and how mayors can effectively lead change.
Join us, April 27th – 29th at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC for the African American Mayors Association annual conference. Our conference theme, “The Time for Transformation in Our Cities” is expected to initiate dialogue that informs and empowers the future of leadership and change in cities across America.
Stay tuned for more to come!
